POLE FITTINGS ETC
The vast majority of
Squibs now use a single-ended flyaway pole system.
These fittings out-perform
all others as components of a reliable and hassle-free system
and we recommend them unconditionally.
The Fico pole end has
jaws which open to the front, so the pole disengages the guy more
easily when recovering the sail or gybing. This is a 'must have'
for any self-launchuing pole syastem.
The 'Spiro' fitting
is the original and the best. Now made with a much stronger bracket
for the Squib. Smoothest, low profile shape and a ball/socket
type link which engagespositively, relying on more than a tight
piece of line for its strength and articulation.
Once you have sailed
with an adjustable-length tiller extension you will not want to
be without one. Shorten it to be convenient and safer in strong
winds, extend it to sit forward for best trim and comfort in lighter
breezes. This Ronstan extension is light, reliable and inexpensive.
