LOOKING FORWARD to another great season of Squib racing on both sides of the Irish Sea, Batt Sails were pleased to confirm their continued commitment t the Squib Class with sponsorship of the 2019 UK Nationals in Torbay.
This follows on from Cowes Week 2018, where in partnership with AQL, Batt Sails provided a free spinnaker to every one of the 99 competitors in The UK Squib National Championships
2019 Squib Irish Northerns and East Coast Championships.
Gordon Patterson an dRoss Nolan have been unbeaten so far this year, taking the Irish Northerns in a difficult weekend and folowing this a few weeks later in Howth with another win to become the East Coast champions
At the end of 2018 they won the Irish Squib Inlands on Lough Derg, sailing ‘Fagin’, Squib100. On Saturday three good races were completed out of the four scheduled on a tricky day. The fleet was treated to a brilliant sunny Autumn Sunday, but regrettably no wind whatsoever, leading to an early haul-out with the overnight results standing. Combined with the previous weekend’s result at Rutland water, this was a clean sweep for Batt Sails at the 2018 Inlands.
A WEEK EARLIER, sailing “Cariad Bach” Alan Johnson and Dave Garlick took the 2018 Squib UK Inland Championships on Rutland Water. Four races in wild conditions on the Saturday were followed by a fitful variable breeze causing Sunday’s race plans being abandoned
Batt sails were also used to win the 2018 Northern Irish Championships, the Irish East Coast and the Irish South Coast events.
Every ‘Batt’ sail is designed, cut and manufactured in the UK at our Bosham sail loft.
